Cats are everywhere in our villages and towns: on rooftops, in shop doorways, curled up beside warm walls in winter. But they are easy to overlook, and when they get hurt they hide. By the time anyone notices, a small injury has often become a serious one. The cats who reach Ujala have been hit by vehicles, attacked by dogs, caught in wires, or left with eye infections so bad they can barely see. Some are kittens separated from their mothers and too weak to eat. Most would not survive another few days without help. When a cat comes to us, we treat her injuries first: cleaning wounds, setting fractures, treating infections, and giving pain relief. Then we give her what she needs to recover: a quiet, safe space away from noise and dogs, clean bedding, and regular checkups until she is strong again. Every cat is also vaccinated and dewormed so she doesn't fall sick again. Cats need different care from dogs. Their medicines, doses and surgeries are their own, and they recover best in a calm space of their own. That is why we are raising funds specifically for injured cats, so they get proper treatment instead of being an afterthought. Right now we care for 35+ cats, and more arrive every month. Your donation pays for the vet visits, surgery, medicines and weeks of recovery that turn a frightened, injured cat into a healthy one. Once she has healed, a cat goes back to her neighbourhood or, if she is ready, to a loving family through adoption. Help us give every injured cat that chance.
