Ujala Hope Foundation

Verification, in plain language

The badge is a starting point, not the end of your judgement.

Ujala Hope makes a narrow, useful promise: we tell you which organisation-level facts were checked, when they were checked and where the boundary of that review ends.

Before a campaign goes live, and before any payout

Four separate questions are answered

Each check exists to reduce a specific uncertainty for donors. None is allowed to imply more than the evidence supports.

  1. Check 01

    Legal registration

We review the organisation's registration record and the legal identity named in its documents.

Why it helps you: You know the fundraiser is tied to a registered entity, not an unverified individual.

  2. Check 02

    Organisation PAN

The NGO's PAN is checked and protected. Public pages never expose the number or its source document.

Why it helps you: The public profile is linked to a checked organisation identity without leaking sensitive data.

  3. Check 03

    Bank ownership

The payout destination must belong to the verified organisation. A test transfer confirms the account before any money is paid out, and the badge says the check is pending until then.

Why it helps you: The intended destination is not a casual personal account added at checkout.

  4. Check 04

    Campaign review

A campaign is reviewed separately for a specific story, goal, timeline and appropriate media before it can go live.

Why it helps you: Organisation verification alone does not automatically publish every fundraising request.

The honest boundary

What verification does not mean

A broad “safe” badge can make donors less careful. A specific check helps you ask the next good question.

  • ×It does not guarantee that a programme will achieve every promised outcome.
  • ×It does not replace your own judgement about the need, plan or evidence shown.
  • ×It does not mean an organisation can never make a mistake or act improperly later.
  • ×It is not tax advice and does not make a live receipt promise in this preview environment.

If something looks wrong

You have a route to raise it

A donor, beneficiary or member of the public can raise a grievance without creating an account. Reports return a reference and are handled through the protected operations workflow.
