Every cow at our Jaipur gaushala came to us because she had nowhere else to go. Some were abandoned once they stopped giving milk. Some were hit on highways, or found weak and starving on city streets with stomachs full of plastic. Some are old and simply worn out. Here, they are fed, cared for and kept safe for the rest of their lives. But the gaushala is struggling to hold them all. We now care for 65+ Gaumata in a space built for far fewer. The sheds are crowded, and new rescues have to be squeezed in wherever there is room. Parts of the roof leak, so in the monsoon cows stand in water and mud, and their hooves and skin get infected. Uneven, broken flooring makes old and weak cows slip and fall, and a cow that falls often cannot get up again. Winter is close. Jaipur nights turn cold, and old, sick and newborn animals suffer most in open, damaged sheds. We need to repair and expand the gaushala before the cold sets in. This campaign will fund: - Roof repairs on the existing sheds, so every cow stays dry and protected from cold winds - A new covered shed so new rescues have room and the gaushala is no longer overcrowded - Non-slip flooring so old and recovering cows can stand and walk safely - A separate sick bay where injured and ill cows can rest and be treated away from the herd - Water troughs and fodder storage so fresh water and dry, clean fodder are always on hand A cow who has given her whole life deserves to spend her last years somewhere dry, safe and peaceful. Your donation helps give every Gaumata in our care that home, and makes room for the ones still waiting on the streets.
