Yuva Ekta's first class was held in a borrowed room. Years later, too many of our classes still are. We teach in rented spaces, community halls and corners lent by neighbours. When the room is needed for something else, class is cancelled. In summer it's too hot to sit inside, and in the monsoon the roof leaks. And every month, rent takes money that should go to children. Girls feel this most. Parents in these villages will send a daughter to learn only if the place is safe, close by, and somewhere they trust. A borrowed, uncertain room doesn't meet that test. A proper learning centre does. We want to build a permanent learning centre in Sohna block, Gurugram: a building that belongs to the village's children. It will have 5 bright, ventilated classrooms, a computer room, a small library, clean drinking water, and separate, safe toilets for girls. That last one alone decides whether many girls attend. A building only matters if it stays open. That's why this campaign also covers the centre's first year of running costs: electricity, water, internet, cleaning, a caretaker, security and maintenance. That way the doors open on day one and stay open. Once built, the centre will serve about 250+ children every year, most of them girls, with remedial classes, digital learning and a library. It will run in mornings, afternoons and evenings, so girls can come around school and chores. On weekends it can host skills training for older girls and women. This is the difference between a programme that might move tomorrow and a place a girl can count on. Help us build it.
